International Editors play a strategic role in maintaining scholarly standards, supporting peer review integrity, and expanding the journal’s international outreach.
Appointment Criteria
Candidates considered for appointment as International Editor must meet the following qualifications:
- Academic Credentials
- Possession of a Ph.D., MD, DM, DNB, or equivalent doctoral qualification in a relevant medical or applied science discipline.
- Active affiliation with a recognized university, research institution, hospital, or scientific organization.
- Research & Publication Experience
- A strong record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed national or international journals.
- Demonstrated expertise in specialized areas aligned with the journal’s scope.
- Experience as a reviewer, editorial board member, or associate editor is preferred.
- Scholarly Reputation
- Recognized contribution to research, clinical innovation, or applied medical sciences.
- Participation in conferences, research collaborations, or academic leadership roles at the national or international level.
- Ethical and Professional Integrity
- Commitment to publication ethics, confidentiality, and academic integrity.
- No history of research misconduct, plagiarism, or ethical violations.
- Willingness to adhere to international editorial best practices.
- Availability and Commitment
- Ability to dedicate reasonable time to editorial responsibilities.
- Willingness to support journal development and international academic networking.
Responsibilities of International Editors
International Editors are entrusted with the following duties:
- Editorial Guidance
- Provide expert advice on scientific direction, scope expansion, and journal quality enhancement.
- Support the Editor-in-Chief in maintaining high editorial standards.
- Peer Review Support
- Review manuscripts within their domain of expertise when assigned.
- Recommend qualified and unbiased reviewers.
- Ensure fair, objective, and timely peer review processes.
- Ethical Oversight
- Promote adherence to research ethics and publication standards.
- Report suspected ethical concerns, conflicts of interest, or scientific misconduct.
- Academic Promotion
- Promote the journal within international academic and clinical communities.
- Encourage high-quality submissions from diverse geographical regions.
- Strengthen global collaborations and visibility.
- Policy Advisory Role
- Contribute to the development and periodic review of editorial policies.
- Advise on emerging trends in medical research and applied sciences.
Term of Appointment
- The appointment is honorary and academic in nature.
- The standard term is two to three years, subject to renewal based on performance and mutual agreement.
- No financial remuneration is associated with this role unless explicitly stated.
Conflict of Interest
International Editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to manuscript handling or editorial decisions. Editors must recuse themselves from evaluating manuscripts where such conflicts exist.
Termination of Appointment
The journal reserves the right to revoke the appointment of an International Editor in cases of:
- Proven ethical misconduct
- Breach of confidentiality
- Failure to fulfill assigned responsibilities
- Actions detrimental to the journal’s reputation
